What does it do?
Jobs Reborn gives players jobs for which they receive money. They choose a profession (miner, lumberjack, farmer, fisherman, hunter, builder, blacksmith, enchanter), and for every activity in it they receive a reward — for mined stone, a felled tree, a harvested crop, a caught fish, or a killed monster.
Each job has its own level, and the reward grows with it. The player therefore sees progress: the more they do what they enjoy, the more they earn.
Jobs are defined in the configuration — what pays for what, how much, and with what limits, so that no one earns absurdly by repeating a single activity. The author offers a web editor for this, in which jobs and rewards are set up more conveniently than in a text file.
Watch out for two things. Jobs Reborn needs Vault and an economy plugin, otherwise it has no way to add money. And the second is balance: if the reward for one job is significantly higher than for the others, everyone does only that one and the server loses diversity.
The plugin can also set an hourly earnings cap and disable rewards in certain worlds — that is useful for a building or creative world, where earning should not happen.
For players, Jobs Reborn is a good answer to the question of what to do on the server. It makes sense even for a daily visit, because rewards are calculated continuously and the level grows.
Installation
- Install Vault and an economy plugin — without them, Jobs Reborn will not add money.
- Download Jobs Reborn from modrinth.com/plugin/jobs-reborn (or from the author's official page) in a version for your server version.
- Upload the .jar to the plugins folder and restart the server.
- Check the console: the plugin must load and find the economy.
- Go through plugins/Jobs/jobs.yml, or use the author's web editor and set the rewards there.
- Decide which jobs you want to have. Fewer jobs with well-thought-out rewards are better than twenty in which you get lost.
- Set limits: a cap on hourly earnings and the worlds where rewards are not counted.
- Assign permissions: a regular player needs permissions for the browse, join, leave, stats, and info commands; management then gets job administration.
- Try it yourself: /jobs browse, choose a job, mine a block, and check that you gained money and experience.
- Calculate the approximate hourly earnings in each job — you will see whether they are balanced.
- Tell players how jobs work (menu, spawn, guide). Without an explanation, many will not notice they exist.
Permissions
Permissions are granted to players or groups — most often with a command /lp user <player> permission set <node> true (LuckPerms). A node that is not in the list is unknown to the plugin.
| Permissions | What does it allow? |
|---|---|
| jobs.command.browse | list job offers |
| jobs.command.join | join a job |
| jobs.command.leave | leave a job |
| jobs.command.info | job information |
| jobs.command.stats | own statistics and level |
| jobs.command.top | leaderboard of the best in the job |
| jobs.admin | manage jobs and rewards (management) |
| jobs.* | absolutely everything (owner only) |
| The plugin's help lists the exact permission names for individual commands directly in-game. |
Commands
Type it in chat with slashes as well. Where is it? <player> or <uzel>, fill in your own value without brackets.
| Command | What does it do? |
|---|---|
| /jobs browse | list of jobs and your levels in them |
| /jobs join <job> | you join a job |
| /jobs leave <job> | you leave a job |
| /jobs info <job> | what the job involves and what rewards it has |
| /jobs stats | your earnings, levels and progress |
| /jobs top <job> | leaderboard of players in the job |
| /jobs points | job points (when enabled) |
| /jobs quests | daily tasks (when enabled) |
| /jobs admin | job administration (management) |
| Jobs and rewards can also be configured in the author's web editor, outside the server |
Configuration and common mistakes
Without Vault and the Jobs Reborn economy plugin, it won't add money. Verify it right after installation, not once players complain.
Rewards must be balanced. If you pay ten times more for one job than for the others, everyone will do only that one and the other professions will be empty. Calculate the earnings per hour for each job.
Set a cap on earnings per hour. Without it, ways will be found to earn absurdly quickly, and the server economy will fall apart.
Disable rewards in worlds where earning is not intended (creative or building world). Otherwise, a player takes away material and still gets paid for it.
Jobs are only as fun as you explain them. Write at spawn, in the menu, and on the website how they work — otherwise some players will never discover them.
If rewards are not being counted, check that the economy plugin is running and that the player really is in the job (/jobs stats). A common cause is also that the job does not pay for the given block type or activity.
Back up plugins/Jobs. Setting up jobs and rewards is hours of work and is not stored anywhere else.

Where does the guide come from?
The guide is our own and is based on the author's documentation. We describe permissions and commands as facts, we don't make anything up — if plugin changes after an update, the guide may be out of date. (version Jobs Reborn 5.x (Paper/Spigot)) Did you find an error? Write to us and we'll fix it.
